About Beeline
Nice to meet you.
One doctor, one location, and one promise: the straightest possible path to a smile you love.
Our story
The straightest path, on purpose.
A beeline is the most direct route between two points: no loops, no detours, no wasted motion. That's how we believe orthodontic care should work, and it's the idea this whole practice is built on.
Beeline Orthodontics is a new, independent, one-doctor practice in Charlotte's Plaza Midwood neighborhood. The promise is simple: we tell you the truth about what your smile needs, map the most direct way to get there, and make every visit count.
No revolving door of providers. No treatment you don't need. Just straightforward care from a small team that knows your name.
Meet your orthodontist
Dr. Tim Glesener, DDS
Dr. Glesener is Beeline's orthodontist, a specialist who treats kids, teens, and adults with braces and clear aligners. He grew up in Brevard, went to Carolina for undergrad, stayed in Chapel Hill for dental school, and spent three years in orthodontic residency in Texas before making a beeline back home.
He'd rather explain your options in plain English than hand you a brochure. Ask him anything, from your bite to your kid's thumb habit to the best taco in Plaza Midwood.
Doctor of Dental Surgery, UNC Adams School of Dentistry · Orthodontic residency, University of Texas Health Science Center
Book a Visit with Dr. GThe long version
Mountains, Carolina blue, and a detour through Texas.
Dr. Glesener grew up in Brevard, North Carolina, surrounded by the mountains, waterfalls, and trails that gave him a lasting love of the outdoors. His curiosity took root early, helping his father survey and count the famous white squirrels of Transylvania County.
His education began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and became a Carolina Covenant Scholar. He served as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, and physics, and still found time to get picked to play HORSE with the Harlem Globetrotters. If you've seen the photo of the crowd storming Franklin Street after UNC's 2017 national championship, he's in there somewhere.
With Carolina blue running deep, he stayed in Chapel Hill for the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Along the way he was recognized with the Dr. Douglas and Ursula Young Scholarship, the Eugene Rossitch Family Scholarship, and as a Rural Oral Health Scholar.
Giving back has always been part of the work. At UNC he served on the Give Kids a Smile board, helping provide free dental care to children throughout the Triangle, and supported families affected by cleft lip and palate, including organizing the Cleft Palate Gallop 5K. Those years shaped a belief he still practices by: good oral health care should reach every child, and a healthy, confident smile matters well beyond the dental chair.
His pull toward orthodontics started with a fascination for how the face and jaws grow and develop. His academic work has covered the cellular biology of tooth movement, the relationship between orthodontics and speech pathology, and questions about the future of the profession itself. He has contributed to multiple published studies and still treats evidence and continued learning as part of the job.
After dental school came a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, with advanced training in traditional braces, clear aligner therapy, 3D printing, and customized orthodontic appliances. Texas gave him excellent training and plenty of stories, but even though everything's bigger there, he made a beeline to the one place he wanted to call home again.
That road led here. At Beeline, Dr. Glesener treats children, teens, and adults across his home state, pairing modern, evidence-based orthodontics with a practice where patients can Bee comfortable, Bee known, and Bee excited about their smile.
Off the clock, he plays basketball, builds personal computers, and grows a collection of vintage sneakers. When he isn't making smiles, he's usually somewhere on the water enjoying the North Carolina outdoors with his dog, Sir Rupp.
